Frequently asked questions:
Do you accept health insurance?
Hope Chiropractic is not “in-network” with any insurance providers, but that doesn't prevent you from using your health insurance benefits for our services. We can provide a Superbill after each visit that includes all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your coverage plan and benefits. Many of our patients successfully use this method to utilize their insurance coverage.
The decision to remain out-of-network with insurance companies was made for several key reasons:
Lower Rates: By avoiding the administrative costs associated with insurance companies, we can maintain lower rates for our services.
Affordable Adjustments: At Hope Chiropractic, a standard adjustment costs just $55, which is comparable to most co-pays.
Visit Limitations: Insurance typically limits the number of covered visits per year and only approves treatment when a condition is classified as severe enough. We prefer to provide customized care recommendations tailored to each patient's needs without being constrained by insurance requirements.
Service Coverage: Most insurance carriers cover only specific services, which may not always be necessary or the most effective treatment. They often will require certain services to be completed, but do not cover them. Our mission is to deliver high-quality care based on individual patient needs.
In summary, we aim to provide personalized “boutique” chiropractic care for each patient, free from the constraints of standardized insurance plans. We believe that the best decisions regarding care are made between the patient and the doctor, not dictated by the insurance company.
Do you accept Medicare?
Hope Chiropractic is a “non-participating” Medicare provider. This means the patient is responsible for paying for the full cost of treatment at the time of service. This fee amount is pre-determined by Medicare each year. After the visit, we will submit the claim to Medicare directly, and they will reimburse the patient directly according to their plan. Please note that Medicare only covers Chiropractic Manipulative Treatment (CMT) for the spine when deemed medically necessary. Fees for therapeutic services other than spinal manipulations and services done as maintenance treatment will not be covered by Medicare under any chiropractic provider. Our fees for all services are listed on our “List of Services & Prices” page in the “Services” tab.
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) or a Medicare Supplement Plan, your plan may allow for more coverage than traditional Medicare plans. Please contact your insurance carrier and ask about out-of-network benefits to determine your coverage.
Are you a Community Care provider for Veterans Affairs (VA)?
Hope Chiropractic is on the waitlist to become a community care provider for the VA through Optum. There are limits to the numbers of providers in each region, and unfortunately, there is no timeline given for when they will increase the number of providers.
Will I receive x-rays on my first visit?
Our focus is on the function of the joints rather than just the alignment. Most conditions are diagnosed through orthopedic and neurological evaluations, without the need for unnecessary x-rays. If we believe that x-rays or advanced imaging (such as an MRI) may be necessary, we can arrange for the images to be taken by one of the local radiologists. If you have any previous imaging, feel free to bring it to your appointment, and we will review it.
Do I need to pre-pay for my treatment plan?
No, we do not require any pre-paid plans or packages. We know that healing is not a linear process and individuals need flexibility in their treatment plans. You will be given a treatment plan recommendation at the start of your care, and it will be re-evaluated regularly to fit your needs and goals. Our online scheduling option makes it easy to book appointments that work for you.
Do you offer Acupuncture or Massage Therapy services?
We do not currently offer these services, but may be looking to add them at a future date.
Are prices for adults and children different?
All of our prices are the same for adults and children.
